Satisfaction

What is satisfaction? What makes people happy? Having friends? good job? possessions? family? memories?
Today, satisfaction or happiness is related to money and possessions. Yes, buying a new house or car is very fulfilling at the time, but the excitement fades as time progresses. A recent study by Ryan Howell of San Francisco State University showed that the excitement over a purchase has faded after the first few weeks, the longest lasts for three months.
Though with experiences, the euphoria lasted longer and the people were more enthusiastic. The experience involved another person and provided a social bonding or sharing something with family or friends. The experiences made people feel more alive.
Things are nice, but when it comes down to it, it is a sofa, a television or a car. With the state of the economy, buying premium items for the bragging rights is a thing of the past for most people. Spending time with family and friends is something that is free and provides a deeper relationship and closeness that a new trendy item lacks.
If you seem to be working strictly to buy things, maybe a re-assessment is in order. People trudge though the work week at jobs that have become mundane. Maybe it is time to jump start your career and life. Jobs in travel and hospitality encompass many career paths and opportunities. Job.travel is the new website specifically for the travel and hospitality industry. So check out the available positions on job.travel and start making memories with your work place and through the benefits of working in travel(usually good discount).
